All our canoes are built to individual requirements including length, type, purpose and finish. Canoes are constructed using traditional colours and upholstery using quality materials.
The Kingfisher and Journeyman are two examples of classical boats which are handcrafted to order.
Construction techniques:
1) Frames are arranged on a strong back support, these form the shape of the boat from stem to stern.
2) Planks are fastened onto the frames and slot together using a cove on cove planking technique.
3) The planked hull is sanded and prepared for fibreglass sheathing and final fit out on the interior. A second internal layer of fibreglass is then added, along with seats, decks, and yokes.
